When & why the Park is closed? 

Kaziranga National Park closing dates 2018Kaziranga National Park homed to the Great Indian Rhino in Assam, India is effected by monsoon each year. The jungle safaries inside the park are always need to be suspended due to heavy rain of monsoon in North East India. This year (2018) the National Park will remain close to tourist from 31st May 2018. However the elephant safari inside the Park was already suspended from 1st of May 2018. The jeep safari inside the Park will remain opens till 20 May 2018 in all Zones (Central Range Kohora, Western Range Bagori, Eastern Range Agoratoli, Burhapahar Range Ghorakati). The jeep safari is also partially permitted for the last open days. The park is actually closed for bad road conditions and mud-water on roads as they are not made of concrete and became serviceable for the Gypsy vehicles.

Best time to visit the Park: The best time to visit the National Park is last of the February month, March and 1st week of April each year. It is due the the control fire in Kaziranga forest. The elephant grasses inside the Park is burnt and you will be able to see wildlife in far distance with possible eye sight easily.

When the park will open again?

Kaziranga National Park will open again for tourist in the 1st week of October each year. However, official date of opening the Park is 1st November each year. Both the Jeep and Elephant safari will resume from the same dates of opening the Park. Jeep safari in some Ranges may open lately.
